I think it would by handy if you had a bus stop on buttercup road or near it atleast! That would be really cool to see because I would love a shorter walk to work which is at the Valley Club!

Thanks for the comment Stephanie. Tim is right, unfortunately we do have to start small based on funding. But the idea is to roll this out to a bigger system in the future, so hopefully we'll be adding a stop in your neighborhood someday soon! Depending on where you live, you may be able to connect via the Valley bus. We have five transfer locations that have been timed to sync to the Valley route. Thanks again.

I live in Hailey and was excited to learn there would be an "around town" bus in Hailey. Unfortunately the nearest bus stop is far enough away that I would have to drive a car to the nearest bus stop in order to use the bus. I agree with Tim, above, East and North Hailey are left out the current route. Thanks for listening.

Living North of Ketchum, having no vehicle, I have no way to get to town. That's why I am S O L.
On the "bright" side, at least I don't have to be to work.
Couldn't make it anyway even if there was work.

I understand you've got to start small, but it would be great if you could create a loop instead of an out and back. Incorporating stops at the Middle School, Buttercup/Myrtle, Croy/5th, along East Ridge Dr., and then back to Community Campus would serve more people in East Hailey. Keep up the great work!

I love the mountain rides service, but there are many things that I don't love about it. I don't own a car, and ride the bus everywhere, but the down fall to that is 1) the new bus schedule, the bus is ALWAYS late, I have waited in the cold with two small children for up to 25 minutes past the stop time on more than one occasion. 2) the afternoon times are better but just today there was a 2 hour gap in the north bound bus times. 3) not to mention that the latest bus runs north? when people are trying to get home from evening jobs and need a later south bus. I lived in Ketchum for years and loved the fact that the bus ran as late as midnight. 4) In my opinion a major downfall to the valley bus is "slack" most of the people riding the "valley" bus are locals that need the bus year round, not just seasonally. 5) Students ride free, but you fail to mention that you can only get the student discount if you attend a district school, if you are attending the CSI-no discount.
Thanks for giving us the ability to post our opinions.

Hi,

We wanted to respond to your post and invite you to come into our office or chat on the phone so that we can get your feedback on our service in case you aren't able to attend one of our sessions on March 9th.

Customer feedback is extremely important to us, which is why we are hosting a whole day of information sessions around town on March 9th. If we aren't serving the people who want to use our service, then we have to change. It really is as simple as that. This fall, for example, we administered a customer feedback survey, and after receiving nearly 500 responses we were able to see that 79% of Valley customers indicated that they would ride more often if there were more frequent trips. After the survey we re-evaluated our operating system and were able to add 2 additional midday trips and an additional weekend trip, closing the gap between stops. We now have service every half hour during rush hour and every hour midday, with the largest gap of an hour and a half during off peak hours.

We do have funding restrictions that currently limit us from expanding service until late night, but we encourage you to keep the conversation going and get others involved. If we are able to find funding and see that there is a strong need in the community for this service it will certainly be evaluated.

Unfortunately, last year the Party Bus, which was funded through the Ketchum Community Development Corporation, was not wildly successful and was run at a loss. Many nights we didn't even have a single rider. We were disappointed to see the buses empty, as we recognize that there is a strong need to get drunk drivers off the road. However, we have to re-evaluate our operational and funding models in order to make it feasible.

We appreciate your comments and encourage you to get in touch with us to continue the conversation.

Hi Sunny, thanks for the comments! You're right, the connector does not go all the way down to South Woodside, but there will be an easy connection between the Town and Valley Buses. And, of course, the Valley Bus will continue regular service when the Town Bus is unveiled, so options will only be increased for current (and future) riders.

As far as lunch hour schedules go, we made some significant improvements with the schedule that was released in late December to cut down on gaps in midday service. These changes came as a result of customer feedback we received from our Fall Valley Survey, so we encourage you and your friends to come to our workshops tomorrow to give us more feedback! We're constantly trying to find better transportation solutions for our customers, and as we do your feedback is invaluable to us.

Thanks again for the comments, hope to see you tomorrow!

The Hailey Town Bus route doesn't appear to include south Woodside. How will people who live in south Woodside get to and from work in downtown Hailey? There's three of us who ride the bus to work from the Power Engineers stop on a daily basis.

Also hope the noontime Hailey schedule will improve. It's impossible to get anywhere on the bus during lunch hour for those of us who ride the bus to work. One former daily bus commuter who works at the County no longer rides the bus at all because she can't get home during the noon hour.

See you tomorrow!

I would like to say that the general sense is that mt rides rocks. I would disagree. And for the following reasons. You cater to the 9-5 workers but leave out the afternoon worker who doesnt get done until 9 or 10 pm. and there are a lot of them. who do you think does that late shift at restarunts, coffee shops, supermarkets and other evening venues. Your times that you go down valley have large gaps that are as much as 3 hours apart. You want more people to ride make it avalible and they will ride. Just cause there isnt a full buss doesnt mean that it wont get that way. Your attitude is that " We are the only game in town and we will run when we want" That is not just my opinion, others have said the same. One of your dispatchers told me sorry there is not other bus for onother 2 hours so you can call a cab. WTF? A cab cost is 30 plus. And What happened to short lived party bus? It was canceled even before it go reconized. Word of mouth is the best advertising in the valley. I just found out about it and it was gone the next time that my friends and i were headed to K-town to have a safe night out cause no worry about a designated driver or how are we to get home? Give it a chance people will ride if you give them a ride oppurtunty. I know that it is all about the big Dollar Bill but poor people will pay if the dont have to spend it on gas.
