Diesel & Electric Bus Mechanic
Full-Time | $25-30/hour DOE
Mountain Rides is looking for a dependable and skilled mechanic to join our team and help keep our fleet safe and reliable. Our vehicles are a vital part of daily life in the Wood River Valley. As a mechanic, you’ll be playing a key role in keeping our community moving.
In this position, you’ll work on a variety of vehicles, which include heavy-duty diesel buses, electric buses, and support vans. Whether it’s routine maintenance, diagnostics, or repairs, you’ll be helping maintain the systems that keep things running.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel buses
- Work on modern electric buses (training provided)
- Service vans and support vehicles
- Conduct preventative maintenance and complex diagnostics
- Perform safety inspections and help maintain fleet reliability
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of mechanic experience is preferred
- Experience with heavy-duty diesel vehicles strongly preferred
- Relevant certifications are a plus
- Must have your own tool set
- Ability to obtain a CDL
- A dependable, solution-oriented mindset

If you do not currently have a Class B license Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Mountain Rides does provide training for applicants who qualify. Driving positions are usually part time to start. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits.
